Silicones in the beard? Heck, it can't go down!

Silikone im bart bartpflege tipps natuerliche Pflegeprodukte

Silicones are the worst thing you can do to your beard. This is no longer new information and yet too many people choose the wrong products! We explain why you should avoid silicone at all costs.

Silicones are illusions

If you smear silicone into your beard, you will be amazed at how soft it feels. But what feels soft and supple is just a shell. A deception that makes you believe that your beard is well-groomed, moist and well-nourished. Because silicone wraps itself around your hair like a second skin, letting nothing in and out. And behind that hermetically sealed film, your whiskers are slowly but surely withering away. They dry out, become brittle and eventually break off. You will never be able to grow a really massive beard like this. So the beard hell has a name. Welcome to the land of the fuzzy beards.

Silicones are always lurking everywhere

The devil is in the details. Namely on the back of your beard oil, your shampoo and your face cream. Yes, your face cream. Most people only think of shampoos when they think of silicones, but care products that many beard wearers use for dry skin and eczema also contain silicones. Your strongest weapon is therefore the ingredient list. The only thing you can do to drive out the bad: get to know your enemy! You don't have to be a trained chemist or a native Latin speaker. For now, remember: Anything ending in -cone, -conol, -oxane, and -glycol is suspicious at first. The bad news: the devil comes along with a new robe and name every few months to find his way into your bathroom. Sometimes even in the form of natural film formers, which still seal your hair.
Do not use any product with these ingredients on your beard. Best not at all.

If that doesn't help you, you can here check the exact content of the vast majority of products and get information on how problematic individual indicators are.

Proclaim your knowledge so that the blind can see - on behalf of the beard!

The world is full of blind people. From disciples who preach silicone on Facebook without knowing its effects. People who recommend products that permanently damage the beard and do not help. But you now know the true lesson, which is: never again silicone!
